Lublin – popular destination for tourists during the summer holidays

The summer months proved to be a successful period for Lublin in terms of the tourist season. In the third quarter of 2024, 630,000 people visited the city for leisure, marking a 10% increase compared to the same period last year. Across the entire Lublin Metropolitan Area (LMA), the number of visitors reached 850,000, including both Polish and international tourists. From the start of the year until the end of September, Lublin welcomed nearly 1.5 million tourists, while the LMA recorded almost 2 million visitors.

New cargo terminal opens at Lublin Airport

Lublin Airport has opened a new cargo terminal, an investment worth nearly PLN 18 million. This modern facility will enable the handling of all types of air cargo. The terminal is a state-of-the-art warehouse and transhipment hall, covering almost 2,000 square metres, including specialised areas for handling hazardous materials, valuable shipments, and perishable goods. The facility is designed to offer top-tier services for cargo handling, import, export, and storage across Poland, Europe, and beyond.

Citizen of Lublin can do more with mObywatel app

Residents of Lublin, along with other property owners in the city, can now pay property tax, agricultural tax, forest tax, and combined financial obligations without any commission fees using the popular BLIK system. This new digital service is available through the mObywatel mobile app and the obywatel.gov.pl website, introduced as part of the pilot launch of the government's ePayments platform in Lublin.

Drones in the Lublin sky – further effects of the project

New services are now available for unmanned aerial vehicles (UAVs). The northern part of the Szerokie district, almost the entire area of Sławinek and Sławin, as well as nearly the entire Jastków Municipality, are being equipped with devices to collect information on the location of these aircraft. The current locations of drones flying over Lublin can also be checked through a special application provided by the Polish Air Navigation Services Agency (PAŻP) called CoTuLata. These new solutions are being developed as part of the "Digital Services for UAVs" project.
