Millions for the development of vocational education in Lublin
Out of 37 positively evaluated projects, the two from Lublin has received the biggest financial support. Thanks to the funds raised, internships for pupils and teachers, specialist classes for pupils, and vocational teachers’ training will be organised in 13 vocational schools. A significant part of the grant will be devoted to the retrofitting of vocational schools into the modern techno-educational facilities, which will create the same working conditions in schools as in enterprises.
Already in May 2017, the City of Lublin begins the project ‘Become professional – today school, tomorrow success’. The main aim of the project is to improve the quality of vocational education by developing the specialist knowledge and practical skills of teachers and students in 12 vocational schools run by the City of Lublin and retraining the didactic base in the schools involved in the project.
The second subsidy contract was signed for the implementation of the project ‘Professional Diagnostician – Technical and practical support in the field of modern car diagnostics for students and teachers of Lublin Automotive Technical School’. The proposed project is closely linked to the 2016 funding request for an infrastructure project aimed at improving the conditions and quality of education for students of the Lublin Automotive Schools by building a car diagnostic station with equipment for the following professions: Car Technician, Car Mechanic and Car Electronics Technician. At present, the project is in the substantive assessment stage.
Lublin shows the awareness of the importance of high-quality vocational education, especially in the rapidly developing advanced engineering sector. Lublin has every inclination to ensure that thanks to the well-managed vocational and technical education system and the presence of the Lublin University of Technology to be a staffing hatch for existing Lublin companies from the automotive sector and those who are considering an investment in the city, eg in the Special Economic Zone, Lublin Subzone.
