Citizen of Lublin can do more with mObywatel app

Residents of Lublin, along with other property owners in the city, can now pay property tax, agricultural tax, forest tax, and combined financial obligations without any commission fees using the popular BLIK system. This new digital service is available through the mObywatel mobile app and the obywatel.gov.pl website, introduced as part of the pilot launch of the government's ePayments platform in Lublin.

“ePayments offer a fast, free way to settle payments with the city online. Users of the mObywatel app will benefit the most—they no longer need to worry about remembering amounts or payment deadlines, as the app handles that for them. The government’s mObywatel app sends reminders about due dates, and paying taxes is as simple as a few clicks,” explained Andrzej Wojewódzki, Secretary of the City of Lublin.

This pilot project is being implemented by the Ministry of Digital Affairs and the Central Information Technology Centre, in partnership with Bank Gospodarstwa Krajowego, the Polish Payment Standard (operator of the BLIK mobile payment system), and the Polish Cashless Foundation. With ePayments, mObywatel has evolved beyond a digital document wallet to a full-fledged transactional app, similar to banking applications, where documents stored on your phone are treated with the same legal standing as traditional paper versions.

The City of Lublin is also working to expand the ePayments platform to include waste management fee payments. Further updates will be available soon.
