Visit of the North-East Romania Regional Development Agency delegation concluded!

We had the pleasure of hosting representatives from the North-East region of Romania—Sebastian Hrib and Dorin Cristian Minea—for a productive meeting focused on exchanging insights and experiences. This session provided an excellent opportunity for both Lublin and the Romanian delegation to share strategies and discuss initiatives aimed at fostering regional growth and attracting investment.

Day 1.

 

The meeting began with Dr. Mariusz Sagan, Director of the Strategy and Investor Relations Department at Lublin City Hall, who outlined Lublin’s strategic approach to Foreign Direct Investment (FDI) at both local and regional levels. He emphasized the importance of creating an investor-friendly environment to cultivate sustainable, long-term economic partnerships.
Following this, Dr. Marcin Garbowski elaborated on the key actions and incentives that Lublin implements to attract and retain investors, underscoring Lublin’s appeal as a thriving business destination. Ewa Malec from the Economic Marketing Division then highlighted our innovative promotional strategies, explaining how Lublin’s targeted campaigns and outreach efforts effectively communicate the city’s investment advantages. Edyta Wiśniewska, representing the Entrepreneurship Division at the Lublin City Hall Culture Department, described how Lublin supports entrepreneurial ventures and innovation, reinforcing our commitment to fostering local talent and promoting a dynamic business ecosystem.

During the session, we also heard from Sebastian Hrib and Dorin Cristian Minea from the North- East  Romania Regional Development Agency (RDA) Brussels Office, who shared valuable insights into the North-East region of Romania. They presented an overview of their agency’s vision and services, detailing the integrated regional development services they provide, as well as strategies for attracting foreign investments and managing significant projects. Their presentation highlighted the region’s strengths, investment potential, and ongoing projects aimed at fostering sustainable growth and regional branding.
The meeting examined how expanding the tourism sector could serve as a catalyst for economic growth, with insights from Krzysztof Raganowicz and Marcin Kęćko, Director of the Tourism Development Office. Additionally, Krzysztof Stanowski, head of the International Relations Office at Lublin City Hall, presented promising collaborative opportunities with cities in Ukraine, demonstrating how regional synergies can drive mutual growth and development.

The meeting concluded with a presentation by Maciej Dudkowski from PwC, who shared successful case studies on investor retention strategies within the service sector. These examples underscored our commitment to providing exceptional support and resources to our investors, reinforcing Lublin’s reputation as a leading hub for economic development.


 

Day 2.
The second day of the visit was filled with on-site meetings showcasing Lublin’s potential, particularly in logistics and startup infrastructure. The day began with a tour of the Lublin Science and Technology Park, guided by Magdalena Stachyra. This visit allowed participants to witness firsthand the dynamic environment that supports both established companies and emerging startups.
Next, the group visited OIC Poland, home to the Unicorn Hub Startup Platform, where Ewelina Iwanek provided insights into how the hub supports startups by connecting them with essential resources and mentorship. Following this, Bogdan Łukasik from Modern Expo led a discussion on the impact of Ukraine’s proximity on Lublin’s economy. He shared valuable perspectives on how this geographical relationship can create new trade and investment opportunities, reinforcing Lublin’s strategic position in the region.

To conclude the day, Robert Bronisz presented case studies from ABM Greiffenberger, showcasing effective strategies for investor retention in the manufacturing sector. His examples underscored the importance of building strong partnerships and providing ongoing support for sustainable growth.

Overall, these two days of collaboration fostered a valuable exchange of ideas and established a foundation for future initiatives aimed at mutual economic development between Lublin and the North-East region of Romania.
