TRILUX opens its first factory in Poland
With its new investment in Swidnik near Lublin, Germany’s TRILUX is expanding its capacity to develop and produce energy-efficient, sustainable LED lighting solutions to meet growing demand. The ultra-modern production facility covers an area of 23,000 square meters, offers a production capacity of up to one million lighting fixtures per year and focuses on manufacturing lighting products for offices and commercial facilities.
“The new location underscores the strategic importance of Eastern Europe for TRILUX and reflects our long-standing commitment to the region. Our expansion through investments in Swidnik near Lublin is a central pillar of our global growth strategy, and the plant itself perfectly complements our production facilities in Germany and Spain,” explains Hubertus Volmert, CEO of TRILUX. “With this third factory in Europe, we are able to respond even faster and more flexibly to local needs and customer requirements. In addition, we are shortening routes and delivery times and strengthening our independence from external influences. This creates ideal conditions for further growth.”
The choice of location for the new plant, in Swidnik in the Lublin region, is no accident: “This region offers us excellent infrastructure and excellent access to qualified specialists,” emphasizes Piotr Mokrzan, Managing Director of TRILUX Ltd. In the initial phase, about 70 employees will work in the areas of production, administration and product development. In the coming months, employment, particularly in production, assembly and logistics, is expected to increase to 250 people.
At its new plant, TRILUX relies on state-of-the-art production technologies to guarantee the highest quality and efficiency. With in-house metal and plastic processing, a state-of-the-art powder coating plant and flexible assembly stations, the lighting specialist can realize individual customer requirements quickly and precisely.
More than 3,000 square meters of attractive office space are designed in the spirit of the “New Work” concept. This means that in addition to open work space (i.e., so-called “open space”), conference rooms and relaxation areas, retreat areas have been planned that create good conditions for creative work or collaboration in smaller groups. A well-thought-out color concept, ergonomic office furniture and intelligent, networked HCL (Human Centric Lighting) lighting from TRILUX promote employee well-being and ensure an inspiring and productive work atmosphere. A stylish cafeteria encourages employees to relax and network.
The building complex has been optimized for CO2 emissions. It meets the highest sustainability standards and is BREEAM certified. In addition to the photovoltaic installation, the site will also feature charging stations for electric cars. Native shrubs, a flower meadow and insect hotels on the factory site are designed to support local biodiversity.

EY’s “Investment Attractiveness of Europe” report shows that despite an overall decline in the number of new foreign investments in Europe (down 4% in 2023 compared to 2022), Poland is still winning, maintaining the most favorable growth dynamics in this part of Europe in the world (down just 3%).
New investments are needed in Poland not only because they create jobs (investors announced in 2023. 229 investments will require a total of 22,378 new employees), but also because they economically revitalize regions with development potential. And Lublin province is certainly such a region.
“Lublin, with its vibrant culture and numerous universities, both technical, humanities and business, provides an opportunity for young people to develop. Any new investor in the region, such as TRILUX, allows them to develop in our region even after graduation,” adds Tomasz Fulara, Deputy Mayor for Investment and Development.
