MATCHing Success: Orange Polska and Lublin Students in Creative Collaboration
Within the MATCH framework, the following activities were conducted in partnership with Orange:
- Graphic design project for floor signage (stairs) – Orange funded the printing and installation of large-format wallpapers, designed by student Michał Ćwiek from the Faculty of Arts at UMCS.
- Large-format graphic design project and office space arrangement on the 6th floor – Orange financed the printing and installation of large-format wallpapers, as well as the purchase of furniture. The projects were a collaboration between students from the Faculty of Arts at UMCS and the Interior Design major at WSPiA.
- Large-format graphic design project and interior arrangement for the relaxation room for employees on the 2nd floor – Orange funded the printing and installation of large-format wallpapers, along with furniture procurement. The projects were created by students from the Faculty of Arts at UMCS and the Interior Design major at WSPiA.
These projects served as coursework and diploma theses for the students. In terms of content, Ms. Małgorzata Znamierowska, a lecturer in the Interior Design major at WSPiA, and Michał Ćwiek, a lecturer at the Faculty of Arts at UMCS, provided guidance and support. Orange Polska financed the implementation of the projects in their office spaces.
This collaboration between the city, universities, and businesses in creative areas over recent months has been particularly fruitful. It’s encouraging to see companies in Lublin recognizing and engaging with the academic talent in our city, inviting outstanding students from artistic fields for meaningful collaborations. The MATCH project not only supports these young talents in launching their careers but also contributes to the development of the creative industries sector in Lublin, said Krzysztof Żuk, Mayor of Lublin.
The MATCH initiative, part of the Lublin City Hall’s efforts to support creativity and innovation in the economy, aims to connect students from artistic and creative disciplines with entrepreneurs and institutions seeking innovative solutions. Since 2020, the project has introduced students to the local job market, familiarizing them with industry expectations. Employers and public institutions involved in matchmaking activities have the opportunity to discover future employees and collaborators, enriching their companies with new solutions related to promotion and advertising. The MATCH project is now in its third year, involving 128 students from three Lublin universities (UMCS, WSPiA, and others) and partnering with 15 businesses and institutions.
